February 2010
Hi Folks,
Hope all is going well for all of you and you all get sometime to enjoy the
hobby and forget about
all the other stuff going on in the world.
Here is our first fishing boat
model. This guy has a lot of
character. It is a two piece casting the hull cabin etc is one part and the roof comes
as a single
casting. You can even see the rope molded into the front deck. This casting
is a full hull so you
can do what you want the boat out of water or you can sand the hull
for a water line model.
You also get two fish traps. Here are some pictures.

Now this one was fun to create.
I call this one 'On the Rocks'. You can see this boat has hit the
breakwater. Would this look good in your
harbor scene. You could add broken windows and
fishing nets etc. Now if this is not a scene catcher
nothing is. Here are some pictures.

I'm
working on another scene which is a dry dock scene to go with the Foggy
Bottom building. I'm
working on some other boats that have that different look and
feel. Also the O scale crowd has asked
if I will make some boats in O scale and the answer is yes in
the works.
For you O scale types this month I have a old portable air
compressor. You can purchase the air
compressor as a separate item as shown below. This guy can be
used at a mine or a street repair
using a jack hammer. Check out the engine detail below and you can
position the pull bar any way
you want. It does require some assembly. Maybe a junk pile on this
one soon.

Now these could be used in both HO and O scale. Resin logs that are
separate. You get four different
logs. Check out the samples below. You Ho guys can use one
log for a car load and the O scale guys
can stack them like in the example.

Check out the
photos of the new town on the inside layout in the My
Layout link on the side bar.
I will update this page with photos of the layout as it progresses. Make
sure you scroll to the bottom
to see the new pictures.
Also I'm selling my FSM collection since since I'm committed to ON30 scale. I only have the
current jewel kits up on the site now and will add some of the older ones later. So you can check
those out at FMS for Sale
What's
on the WorkBench
The video is under production and it should be ready
soon. This is not going to be fancy so don't
expect a big Hollywood production. Remember it is free. This video will take you from priming to
finish product. I
have had some many requests to do this I guess I had better do it. This will be a
FREE
video on the web page.
For the O scale crew going to make some wagons like ore wagons, freight
wagons etc. And of
course some boats. HO crew still trying to finish up the
Foggy Bottom project and making the
dry dock boat scene for the Foggy Bottom project.
Of course you never know what's coming each month as you can
see my creative juices get flowing
and off we go on another creation.
I'm also going to start making people in O scale. These will
be of the 1930's era. Here is our first
figure still on his casting spur. Going to try and make some
different figures with casual poses
and figures that have never been on the market as eye catchers to
bring your layout alive.

I also went back and re did some of the existing O scale
castings. Like the barrel sets and the
large shelve casting. Check out the pictures below.

Here is the new shelve casting.

You can
now get catalogs of the products in Adobe format on the web page.
A complete catalog of
all products or an HO scale catalog or an O scale catalog
is available.
If you have a problem reading
the Adobe catalogs you may need to download
the most current version of the Adobe reader. This is
a free download.

Well that's about
it for now. If you do not want to be sent this news letter. Send me
an email at

include as much information as you can since the email list has
grown and removing
one person is like a needle in a hay stack.
And I think I have the kinks worked out on the web page. We are
setup for Paypal
and USPS Money Orders or personal checks. If you want to pay by USPS Money
Order
change the payment type to USPS Money Order and you will receive an invoice
with your shipping cost and sales tax amount if you live in California.
Thanks for your
Support. Rick and Mary. |
