     News Letter August 2010

    Hi Folks,

Here is some fun stuff to look at and see if it will work for your layout.

This month we have a couple of truck conversion kits for the O scale guys. These conversions
require that you obtain a donor vehicle a
Matchbox Models of Yesterday 1926 model TT ford van.
The first conversion is to make an old work truck, but then you can add different items from our
castings to make a tank truck or crane truck or just put some junk in the back.

The next conversion is to use the same donor vehicle and make a farm truck. These were common
to strip down a body and just leave a bench seat and steering wheel. Now that must have been a
blast to drive. Again you can add more of our castings or make you own junk.

We also have a new HO scale scene. This one I call 'Hoover Ville' Google it and you will see what
I mean. This could be a hobo camp or a small logging or mining camp. Check out the detail and all
the action on this scene. This will be an eye stopper when people check it out on your layout.

I also had to go back and rebuild the HO Auto Junk yard since I lost the master. So it was done
a little different and the first one. Here are some photos to check out. Full of rust buckets.

Also I'm selling my FSM collection since since I'm committed to  ON30 scale. I only have the
current jewel kits up on the site now and will add some of  the older ones later. So you can check
those out at FMS for Sale

    What's on the Workbench

Here is a little tip when working with Rusty Rail castings. If a casting is warped or you want to
change an items appearance use a hair dryer. Hold the item under the heat and in 30 seconds
or depending on how hot your hair dryer is,  you can remove the item from the heat and start
to shape that item. Do not put the resin in the oven.

Here are some more of the pictures from my June Nevada trip.

You can now get catalogs of the products in Adobe format on  the web page. A complete catalog of
all products or an HO scale catalog or an O scale catalog
is available. If you have a problem reading
the Adobe catalogs you may need to download the most current version of the Adobe reader. This is
   a free download.

Well that's about it for now. If you do not want to be sent this news letter. Send me
an email at rickanmary@rustyrail.com and I will remove you from the list. Please
include as much information as you can since the email list has grown and removing
one person is like a needle in a hay stack.

And I think I have the kinks worked out on the web page. We are setup for Paypal
and USPS Money Orders or personal checks. If you want to pay by USPS Money
Order change the payment type to USPS Money Order and you will receive an invoice
with your shipping cost and sales tax amount if you live in California.

Thanks for your Support.  Rick and Mary.
